Manage Warehouse Bins (Mobile App)

Overview

Skustack bins represent the specific compartments within your warehouse where items are stored. Accurate bin records enable you to determine the most efficient layout and arrangement of your products. Effectively utilizing the available space can significantly improve your overall warehouse storage capacity and help you reduce unnecessary costs. In this article, you will learn how to manage and update your bin information through Skustack.

Manage Bins

You can manage your warehouse bins within Skustack's Bin tab. From here, you can create new bins and add products to them, search for existing bins, update bin details, view bin movement history, perform bin cycle counts, and restock inventory as needed.

Create Bins

To create a new bin via the Skustack application:

Navigate to the Bin module and select Create bin.
Select the Primary and Sellable checkboxes as needed. Leaving a checkbox unchecked designates the bin as non-primary or non-sellable, respectively.
Enter a Bin name, its dimensions, and unit capacity.
Optionally, select a warehouse region from the dropdown menu.
Tap Create.
A new bin of type Normal will be created. You can open it and add products as needed.

The Skustack app allows you to only create bins of type Normal. All other bin types, excluding Picking, can be created through the Admin portal.

Search Bins

To find a bin:

Open the Bin module and tap Search bin.
Choose the Search Mode:
1. All - Will load all bins in the warehouse you are working in.
2. Name - Scan or enter a bin name manually. All products in that bin will be displayed.
3. Product - Scan or enter a product ID manually. All bins containing the selected product will be displayed.

When you open a bin, the following actions are accessible from the three-dot menu at the top right corner of the screen:

- View and edit Bin Details.
- Print a Bin Label.
- Bulk transfer all items to a different bin.
- View Bin Movements.
- Build a Pallet.

To manage the bin's contents:

Select any product to adjust inventory.
Tap the product's three-dot menu to reveal shortcuts to:
- View product's Info.
- View all Bins containing this product.
- Transfer inventory.
- View inventory Movements for the specific bin.
- View Lot numbers if the product is expirable.

Picking bin quantities cannot be adjusted through the Skustack app. If you need to adjust the quantity in a picking bin, it must be done through a transfer. To identify and resolve discrepancies in picking bins, refer to the Warehouse Qty Picked article.

View and Edit Bin Details

View details such as size, type, unit capacity, and region to help you determine where a product should be placed. Designate bins as primary, non-primary, sellable, or unsellable.

To manage bin details:

Open the desired bin as described in the previous section.
Tap the three-dot menu and select Bin details.
Tap Edit.
Make the necessary adjustments and tap Save.

The space remaining in a bin is calculated based on the bin size and product dimensions.
